So I'm 28 years old today. FYI, I have sort of a
tradition of naming my birthday posts this way (though right now I can only find one in the archives...weird). I guess you could say I am emphatically in my late 20s. Mid-20s to me means 24, 25 and 26. 28 is definitely pushing 30. Not that I care. It's cool, essay.
I don't feel any different, but now I have to get adjusted to telling people that I'm 28 instead of 27. Even though this happens once a year, it's like writing down the new year on your checks for the first few months.
Today was much like any other day. I went to work, ran some errands, and came home a few minutes ago. I'll either go out to dinner with family, go watch a game with my brother, or go swimming. Speaking of swimming, now that the outdoor pools are open I have doubled my normal distance to 1200 meters, or 3/4 of a mile. THis amount is much easier to do in an outdoor 50-meter pool...and one of those is at the Rockville Municipal Swim Center. I tried it out last week, and it was quite refreshing. I feel more jacked already.
I will most likely be going to Mongolian Barbecue on Friday night in BEthesda, going out in D.C. after that, then coming up to New York on Saturday afternoon. Dave's brother Chad is having a birthday party that night, and Dave and some friends are supposed to host a barbecue in Brooklyn on Sunday.
Thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday. I heard from a lot of folks today, and it felt good.
