I just heard from a friend I made at a professional conference I attended last year -- you know, the conference that changed my life.   (In retrospect...it really did change my life; after that conference, my job search actually worked, and I got a real job offer 2 months later.)  I haven't heard from this person in a long, long time.  Basically, we first met at the hotel; we spent a day together after the conference ended, trying to find some redeeming qualities about Dallas...and kinda failing.  But it was still much more fun with company than it would have been without.  I'm excited to catch up with them again.
