Over/Under on Dave and the iPhone Getting Together

posted Thursday, 11 January 2007
As many of you know, Apple announced its new iPhone yesterday.  It's part iPod, and part PDA/cpu/smartphone.  It has a full-length touchscreen, and will be one of the thinnest PDA/Smartphones on the market.  It will have 8 GBs of space for music and everything else.   Previews thus far have been stellar.

As many of you know, Dave is friend and occasional contributor to OP.  Thanks in part to his cross-linkage of the entry to Digg.com, he wrote the second most-read entry ever posted to this site (for whatever reason, the most-read entry ever is my review of the film The Illusionist).  More imortant to this post, Dave is also a notorious gadget hound.  If it's a groundbreaking electronic doohickey for under $1000, he must have it.  He doesn't jump the gun and buy things the day they come out -- but you could call him an early adopter of new technology by normal person standards.

So the big question is: what's the over/under on when Dave gets an iPhone?  Will this finally get him to leave Sprint and go to Cingular, the company that will be the exclusive temporary iPhone carrier?  What do you think?  Two months?  Six?  A year?  Whenever Sprint gets the iPhone?  For those who know Dave, it's an intriguing question.  Which is why I'm putting up a poll about it, found at the top right of the site.  Much love, man.
