Giving Thanks, and New York Trip

This past weekend was pretty calm in that no travelling was involved.  I had my customary dual Thanksgiving dinners, hung out with Dave, Joe, Laura and Ina, snuck in a trip to Chief Ike's Mambo Room, did some shopping for house stuff for my new pad, and generally tried to relax.  I probably succeeded too well, because I can barely keep my eyes open now.  I unlearned my sleep schedule, so I have to re-learn it this week.



In other news, my house is finally starting to take shape.  There are no more cardboard boxes in my room, and we've even put up some pieces of art.  The landlords are going to get us a second refrigerator, since there are 6 of us.  In disappointing news, my DirecTV Tivo stopped working, so I had to have it replaced under insurance...with a non-Tivo DVR.  Tivo is so easy to use; this one is a LOT less user-friendly.  I'm not too happy about that.  But in better news, I should have internet at home soon, so my entry posting should return to normal. 



I also plan on visiting New York in mid-December, so all my peeps up there should let me know if they will be around.  I haven't been up there since the summer of 2005, so it's about damn time I went back to my grad school home.  Perhaps a Chicago trip in the offing for New Years?  We'll see.
