Hype Update
To the surprise of no one, other U.S. soldiers actually shot and killed 3 other unarmed prisoners in the same spot at the same time, according to a U.S. reporter.
Is this sick? Yes. Does it mean that most U.S. soldiers kill unarmed prisoners? No. Will people continue to "connect the dots" in spite of the fact that there is no evidence linking this incident to the prison scandal? Of course.
Are these soldiers insane and/or idiotic for doing this, given that people would naturally want to connect this to other bad things U.S. forces have done? Absolutely. Is Islam Online a reliable news source? I have no idea. Are the last 4 paragraphs in the article pretty stinkin' biased? You bet. But what a great story for them. It's convenient when you can make everything appear black-and-white.
