I've realized that it's a lot harder to update the site when I'm unemployed, if that makes any sense.

Basically, my schedule is so ridiculously unpredictable that it's hard to establish daily routines. And without daily routines, it's hard to get a chance to update the site. For instance, with about 2 days notice I decided to come to Philadelphia for a career fair. Of course, I scheduled time to see Ed and Regina -- I haven't seen them since after Eva's wedding in early 2004. In the midst of all this, I scheduled a couple of part-time interviews. And I'm driving back tomorrow, seeing a play and going to a party. It's a little bit nuts right now. Not Estonian-level nuts, but still crazy despite my unemployment.

Randomly, Hertz upgraded me to a bright red Ford Mustang. It's a hot-looking car on the outside, but it's FUGLY on the inside with lots of cheap plastic and shit. But it rides well, and gets surprisingly good gas mileage. I do feel a bit silly driving it around, though.

The last couple of fairs have actually been good - probably because they were held by a black MBA association. In other words, these people are expecting to find educated blacks with master's degrees. In a shocking turn of events, they asked for detailed descriptions of what I'd done in order to see if they could find a use for my skills in their organization. What a concept! It was so refreshing. I'm going to have to keep going to the fairs of this group. Granted, only about 15 of 50 organizations showed up, but it felt more productive than the MSG fair which had about 50 companies.

I'm actually writing this on Regina's comupter in her and Ed's place in Jersey. I took some sultry pictures of her (if you're on my mailing list, you'll see them eventually). We just took a brief trip to Atlantic City. I karaoked Angel of Harlem by U2, which marks the first time I've sung in public since Ron and I performed at Unplugged in Melville/Joburg.

Oh, and I met Dr. J.

Yes, that's Julius Erving, the famous Hall-of-Fame NBA player. The guy who Michael Jordan stole all his moves from. He showed up at Planet Rose; he knew one of the people we were with due to his casino interests. Apparently, he liked my singing. So we shook hands, and that was about it. But it's still pretty cool that I met the Doctor.
