Sadly (and inevitably), <a href="http://www.thesmokinggun.com/Welcome.html">The Smoking Gun</a> has outed the Cubs fan that may have cost the Cubs a shot at the pennant by interfering with a foul ball that was almost definitely going to get cught by cubs outfielder Moises Alou.  As in years' past, the play changed the momentum of the game, as a 3-0 lead in the 8th inning became an 8-3 loss for the Cubbies.

I feel really bad for this guy.  He may have to change his name, and maybe get some plastic surgery while he's at it.  By the end of the game, he was covered in beer - and security was asking him to leave for his own safety.  I refuse to link directly to his TSG entry, since I dont believe this guy deserves any more hatred or ridicule flung his way.  After all, it's kind of instinctive to go for a foul ball, and he probably didn't realize the ramifications off what he'd done until it was too late.  At the same time, it probably should have occurred to him that "since it's my own team going for the out, maybe I should let this go."  Poor guy.
