I got back very, very early from New York this morning. It was a good trip, but I spent an obscene amount of money on simply eating and going out -- money that isn't being replenished by working yet. There has been some progress with the S.F. company, but nothing is set in stone either way yet.
I saw a band called Old Crow Medicine Show (google them -- I'm too lazy to hyperlink to their site at the moment). They are bluegrass, and Dave has become a big fan of theirs. It wasn't bad, but with a band like that it really helps to know the music ahead of time. Virve, Dave and I all attended that show. I also got to hang out with the recently-married Tom Kim, as well as seeing Daina and Andrew's new place in the company of Noah and Maya. Saw Rob (Canadian, met him in South Africa) and had lunch with him at Corner Bistro. I went to Joe Shanghai With Ashley and Anna and to Lombardi's with Pixie. Paolo, Chris and Adler ended up at many of these events (as described in the last entry).
To arrange all this, I took the unprecedented step of sending out an e-mail itinerary of the places I'd be having my meals. This meant that instead of playing phone tag with more than a dozen people, I let them choose where they could fit into my schedule -- thus allowing them to see where they could fit some time in to hang out during the week that I was there.
Dave, Virve and I came back down via a rented Ford Explorer, and they will be in D.C. for the weekend. Now that I'm back, I really, really need to find work.
