Virulent Hypocrisy

posted Friday, 10 August 2007
As the Bush administration ignores, ducks and dodges subpoena requests, I can't help but think back to what W said during the peak of the Patriot Act controversy.  Essentially, he told the American people that if you aren't talking to terrorists, you shouldn't have to worry about having your communications monitored randomly without a warrant.

Isn't it about time he remembered his own advice?  Right now, he and Cheney seem too be saying that they are above the law and should not have their oh-so-sacred roles challenged by forcing their immediate advisors to respond to subpoenas.   What do they have to hide?  Shouldn't the president's own words guide them?  If they don't have anything to hide, why is the president worried about allowing Gonzalez and Miers to testify under oath?

If you're not breaking the law, you have nothing to worry about...right?
