The (original) cruise is dead to me.

It looks like I'm back to planning my own vacation.  One of the cruise participants has gotten more serious with his girlfriend, and they booked a cruise together.  I would go with them...except that my other two friends who showed interest back in December bailed.  So not only would I have been the third wheel, I would have had to pay about $1000 for a private internal stateroom.  That's way too much money for a cruise; at that price, there's a lot of other stuff I could do for a week. 

So I'm now making my own vacation plans for either February or March.  I could still end up going on a cruise -- but I'm also exploring other ideas.
