...or, if you're ESPN, it gets worse and worse. Today Jeffrey Lurie, owner of the Philadelphia Eagles, ripped ESPN for hiring Limbaugh and <a href="http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A34359-2003Oct2.html">accused the network of "institutional racism."</a>

He not only targeted Rush, but also their new show "Playmakers" for damaging the network's reputation in the eyes of the league. Hey, wasn't I saying the same things yesterday? Maybe Lurie reads Obisdian Potency!

Anyway, Lurie went so far as to say the combination of hiring Limbaugh and "Playmakers" would lead the league to re-evaluate its relationship with ESPN.

My favorite quote of his: "Let's put the onus on Disney [ESPN's parent company] and ESPN to take care of what I see as a cancer," Lurie said. "They've built such a wonderful brand; in the last 12 months they've done everything they can to hurt their brand. The onus is now on them. . . . It's not finished with the [departure] of Rush Limbaugh. The onus is now how are you going to portray the sports you cover. Who are you going to allow to discuss it? That's what it's all about -- fairness, civility, a lack of bigotry and racism."

(Cue "Trouble" by Coldplay).

One more time, Disney: was it worth it? Think before you answer. You obviously have had trouble with the whole 'thinking' thing lately. This isn't going away anytime soon. 'You lie down with dogs...'

This article has a couple of takes on McNabb as well as the usual rollicking fun we've come to expect from Mr. Simmons.
