And you thought the United States had race problems?

posted Monday, 17 July 2006

It's true, this country does have problems.  But right now, this is as embarrassing to the UK as the Rodney King verdict was to L.A. and the U.S.

In this case, it may actually be true that pinning charges on one, two or 4 people might not be feasible.  It may be that not enough evidence existed to place responsibility for this innocent man's murder by the police on a few people.  But has anyone been held accountable in any way?  Has anyone involved in police intelligence and communications so much as lost his/hjer job, or even got demoted?

If not, the travesty of justice continues.  And I thought Britain was supposed to be a civilized place.
