Moved in...

The cause for my recent posting slump is that I finished moving into my new place last Wednesday.   Shockingly, I still don't have internet - and it won't be turned on until November 27.  In the meantime, I'll have to settle for piggybacking on wireless connections...which I'll do as soon as cupofjoe comes down to visit with his wireless USB device that I can use for my desktop.  {EDIT: Joe forgot the device, so I'm breaking out the one I got.  But so far, no luck on finding a free signal.  guess I have to wait 5 more days for our internet to be turned on.}



Our DirecTV stopped working on Friday, and no over-the-phone troubleshooting could fix it.  So I have a service tech coming to fix it tomorrow morning.  This is the first time EVER that my DirecTV has stopped working after a successful installation.  This never happened in either San Francisco or New York, or Miami (after a hurricane) or here.  Weird.  Could it be sabotage?  More on that elsewhere.



So far, I'm just happy to be living on my own again.  Once we get internet, things will be just about set.  And just in time, as Joe, Ina and Dave are all coming into town; I expct they will all want to see the new pad.
