I can't believe I haven't posted about this yet, but Big Daddy Kane performed at the 2005 VH1 Hip Hop Honors (he was inducted into the second wave of hall-of-fame rappers this time around). Both the tribute performances and his own portion blew the roof off the show. The crowd was hotter than any other moment of the ceremony during this section. And at the end, rap legends such as Ice-T and Grandmaster Flash were literally
bowing to BDK's awesomeness.
Thanks to YouTube, I can now link to the Big Daddy Kane tribute.
This clip clearly demonstrates why BDK
was #2 on my best rappers of all time list, and why he is so revered in rap circles. The man is a machine and a legend, and the show he puts on at the very end of this segment is just a small taste of his greatness.
