Posting Perils

posted Monday, 3 December 2007
The problem with having a forum like this is sometimes the technology is tricky, and people get to see stuff that wasn't meant for the public.  For instance, If a person has different private zones for their blog, but they accidentally publish a private entry into the public space, and an e-mail gets sent to subscribers with a summary teaser, it might cause some embarrassment -- even if the poster immediately recognize the mistake and move/delete the entry.  The teaser is out there, and there's nothing he/she can do about it.  This is just one of many dangers of blogging (for the record, I still hate the term "blogging," but it seems like it's here to stay).
