OP celebrated its 6th anniversary in January of 2009. I didn't post an entry about it then, and I suppose that is a fitting example of where the blog has gone since it started in January of 2003.
OP has had many iterations in different cities and countries, and Blog-City is its second host. I haven't bothered to look for another, mainly because there's a lot more preoccupying my mind these days beyond which provider offers the best premium blog site and/or what to post about. Also, things were a lot more freewheeling 6 years ago -- people posted intimate details of their lives with few fears of the consequences.
Since then, those who are concerned about privacy have made blogging a much more discreet and cautious enterprise. Race has still been a core subject of conversation here, but the focus and volume of such posts has been muted in recent years. That's probably a natural consequence of age.
Due in large part to the awareness of web activity and its potential pitfalls, there isn't really much more to say on the subject. I'm glad we have been able to keep this up for 6 years, and I hope we can continue for at least 6 more. Thanks for reading, and stay black.
