In case you missed
this Slate/WashPost article, it raises some very interesting points about the new sports 'creature from the white lagoon' known as Human Growth Hormone. Basically, this op-ed likens using HGH to smoking weed.
Most interestingly, it points out that there are no tangible performance benefits from using HGH - yet major sports leagues around the world have banned its use. HGH may not even help people recover from injury faster - yet sports leagues have banned its use. Oh, and the initial study that touted the benefits of HGH was seriously flawed. I'll leave it up to the reader to draw conclusions from all this.
