What I've been doing lately.

posted Monday, 8 January 2007
New Years is my favorite holiday, simply because almost everyone in the world is celebrating at the saem time on the same day.  For New Year's Eve, I went to two parties: one thrown by Russ in Arlington, and another in College Park/Berwyn Heights.  Both were pretty fun.  I got so tired that I fell asleep as Rob drove me (and my roommate E) home at 4 in the morning.

The week before, I had a mni-high school reunion with my old friend Heather, her younger sister, and some others from various high school classes both above and below mine.  It was a trippy walk down memory lane, let me tell you.   I also saw Casino Royale with Joe.  It might be the best James Bond movie of all time.  It's different from the others in just about every way a Bond movie needed to come along and be different from the rest.

Finally, I got some off-white shoes to replace my Aldo pair that had got too beaten up over the past year-plus.  Here is a pic of the new pair in all its glory.  Naturally, I looked through dozens (if not hundreds) of apirs before I settled on this one, then drove to the only Skechers store I could find in the area (Tysons Corner) before I settled on these.  Thanks to the color scheme, they go with both black and brown outfits.

Otherwise, it's been work work work punctuated with swimming, social events and some family time thrown in.  Next up: a probable return to Chicago, one year since my last trip, to see Mike, Beth and the baby, as well as Ina and Chris.
